Jise gandum ka ek daana hazm na hota ho
Who naan ki baat na karey to kya karey
Paani meiN rahna mach-liyoN ka kaam hai
SaaNp ghabra ker bahar na aye to kya karey
Jiska na ho koi mad-dah o dadrasah
Ta-an apni dhol na bajaye to kya karey
Jiska dil ho sokhta, ser para para
Woh khaak na uraye to kya karey!

Who could’nt digest a grain of wheat
Why would'nt he talk of pastries and cakes
Water is an abode of fishes
Why would’nt smothered snakes escape
Who could’nt have a cheer of praise
Why would’nt he beat his drums one to make
Head in shreds, heart burnt to dust
Why would’nt he raise storms in his wake!

Chor dey i-raada bandagi kaa

Chor dey i-raada bandagi kaa
Aajizi ka, parsai kaa
Phor ley apni aaNkhein

Khaa-key qasmeiN bandagi ka

बर्न the candle with your finger

Aati hai na janey kahaN sey yeh bala
Iman waloN ko deti hai yeh sada
AafreeN aazab-e-ilm be-amli ka sakht hai
Bey-gosh naa-beena bhala ,aag ko daaman sey jalaa

bey-gosh = without ears naa-beena= without eyes

Where-from the ghosts descend
With plaintiff call they rend
Severe is the punishment
Knowledge sans accomplishment
Deaf and blinds have passed the tests
Light your fires with your tents.

tu sahib-e-imaan hai
ya hai tu weh-shi
tan-0-tan sajdah karey
